THE STORY SO FAR..

1971

Macron was founded in Bologna and started its business as the exclusive Italian distributor of baseball equipment on behalf of MacGregor USA and other American baseball brands.

1991

Macron begin producing NBA replicas on an industrial scale for the European market on behalf of Champion.

2001

Macron’s adventure in professional football begins with the signing of Bologna FC 1909.

2005

Macron begins it’s expansion abroad, from Italy into Europe and the rest of the World. Macron signs its first sponsorship contract outside of Italy, with Swansea City FC and Macron products are being increasingly worn by professional and amateur athletes around the globe.

2010

The Macron Store project is launched. A unique store concept that showcases the full range of Macron products; from teamwear to accessories, from merchandising to leisurewear. The number of Macron stores would continue to grow rapidly in the coming years reaching 120 stores globally by end of 2017.

2012

Macron introduces Athleisure to the collection to meet the demand for those who want to wear Macron off the field.

2013

Macron sign its first technical sponsorship agreement with a national team; Scottish Rugby Union. The SRU become an important partner helping to test and develop the range of rugby teamwear that is offered today.

2013

Macron signs it’s first professional club in Australia, Perth Glory FC. The club will become an important partner for Macron helping the brand grow throughout Australia and New Zealand, becoming one of the major players in soccer and sports teamwear in the region.

2014

Macron becomes the technical sponsor of Bolton Wanderers FC and acquires the naming rights to the club’s stadium which is now known as the ‘Macron Stadium’.

2015

Under the supervision and advice from professional athletes, Macron conceives and launches its running collection. For the first time, Macron takes part in a world sporting competition, when Scottish Rugby Union wears Macron during the Rugby World Cup in the UK.

2016

Macron signs its first technical sponsorship with a national football team, Albania, who play in the European Championship in France that same year.

2016

A-League Champions Adelaide United become the second professional football team in Australia to partner with Macron, further enhancing the brands reputation within the sport for its high quality technical products and merchandise.

2017

Numerous new sponsorships enrich Macron’s outstanding portfolio in new and traditional sporting markets. The Italian Rugby Federation, Deportivo La Coruna and Club Brugge just to name a few. Furthermore after a stringent tender process, Macron was appointed by UEFA as its official partner in the supply of apparel to small football federations; beating competition from Adidas to supply such nations as Belarus, Lichtenstein and Luxembourg among others.
